The architectural legacy of the Badami Chalukyas lives on in the exquisite temples of Aihole, Badami, and Pattadakal, a cluster of small towns in Northern Karnataka. The powerful Chalukya dynasty ruled most of the Deccan between the 6th and 12th centuries.
Badami -Once the capital of the mighty Chalukyas, and their cave temples are one of the finest artchitecture Chalukya’s gifted us. The town faces the Agastya lake which is surrounded by two hills, Vatapi and Ilvala named after the two demon siblings who wreaked havoc in the region till the sage Agastya outsmarted them.
Aihole, on the bank of the Malaprabha river, is considered a cradle of temple architecture in South India. Scattered around the village, are about a hundred temples, ranging from rock cut shrines to full fledged structural temples, in varying states of preservation. 7:30AM- Checking into Hotel
After breakfast and freshen up exploring Badami on foot which is 1km away from Hotel

After the visit will come back to hotel for the lunch and will go out for the evening walk to Bhoothnath Temple and Agasthya Lake to watch the sunset glory of the temple.
After the visit you are free to roam around the small village and the town for some street food and join back again for dinner at 8:00PM
8:00AM- Starting to Pattadakkal – Red town of Chalukyans
Visit the ten temple complex and have breakfast
12:00PM- Off to Aihole

As people are joining from different part of India it’s difficult to manage them. So picking up from everywhere is not possible.
From Bangalore there is daily running train and buses are there to Badami. Those who are travelling from Kerala has to reach Bangalore and get this train/bus. Train is Golgumbaz Express 16535 from SBC and Buses available in www.ksrtc.in
