Know before you go

  • Avoid plastic bags and help maintain the ecological balance of the destinations. Littering may result in fines.
  • Adhere to the time schedule as the trip covers multiple destinations.
  • Smoking and consumption of alcohol is prohibited throughout the trip
  • We will stick to our time schedule and we will not be waiting for any late running trains/buses. Please book your tickets accordingly.
  • The places we plan to visit experience significant crowds during the peak season, and only walk-in tickets are available. In the event of any unexpected closures, we might not have an alternative plan to offer.
  • No reimbursement will be provided for any services of the trip that remain unused.
  • We will be booking AC semi sleeper buses from Trivandrum and Ernakulam according to the traveller request
  • Cancellation of bus tickets and refund is as per the bus ticket provider details which is in ticket
  • There will be a buddy at each starting point to coordinate
  • Prices for up and down travel from Ernakulam and Trivandrum is 3938rs which may change according to the booking date of each traveller.
  • All travellers are expecting to travel togather in same bus. In any other case, we will arrange another bus with similar timing.
  • In case the bus provider cancels the ticket, rebooking will be subject to seat availability. If there is a fare difference during rebooking, the passenger will need to bear the additional cost.
  • There will be no refund of the trip cost in case the bus gets cancelled.
Itinerary

Day 1

Travellers will be picked up from Trivandrum / Ernakulam bus stand, where an Appooppanthaadi buddy will assist and coordinate boarding at each starting point.

Day 2

Arrival at Thanjavur and hotel check-in by 07:00 AM.
After freshening up and breakfast, proceed to Airavateswara Temple (1-hour journey from the hotel).
Following the temple visit, experience local artisans at Saree Weaving.
Lunch at 01:00 PM
Post lunch, continue exploring local artisans:
•⁠ ⁠Thanjavur Pith Work – a traditional South Indian craft using soft sola pith to create delicate artistic models.
•⁠ ⁠Nachiyar Koil Kuthuvilakku Making – an intricate brass lamp craft symbolizing divinity, prosperity, and heritage.
After these enriching experiences, visit Gangaikonda Cholapuram, a magnificent temple city showcasing Chola architecture, spiritual heritage, and cultural grandeur.
Return to Hotel in the Evening.

Day 3

07:00 AM – Check-out from hotel after breakfast
•⁠ ⁠Artisan Experience: Thanjavur Bommai Making – Discover the traditional craft of creating colorful, round-faced dolls symbolizing culture, devotion, prosperity, and South Indian heritage.
•⁠ ⁠Visit: Maratha Palace Complex & Royal Museum
•⁠ ⁠Artisan Showcase: Thanjavur Veena Making – Meet skilled local artisans who craft the world-renowned classical musical instrument.
01:00 PM – Lunch
•⁠ ⁠Brass Crafting Tradition – Witness Thanjavur’s master artisans create intricate idols, lamps, and vessels, preserving cultural heritage with devotion and artistry.
•⁠ ⁠Thanjavur Painting Heritage – Explore the classical South Indian art form featuring rich colors, gold foils, and divine themes reflecting tradition and devotion.
•⁠ ⁠Evening Visit: Brihadisvara Temple with a knowledgeable local guide.
07:00 PM – Trip concludes

Drop-off at the bus boarding points for return journey to Ernakulam / Trivandrum.
